Similar to Ton's story from the book I turned 40 recently and wasn't too happy with the way I looked and I have been trying for the last couple of months to get down to my ideal body weight which means losing 2-3 stone. I am a big lad, and do struggle with weight issues, saw the program on the telly and thought bang on, tasty looking dinners and no too hard to make, ok so it is the telly and obviously edits and whatever will make it seem easier than what it is but why no give it a go if it doesn’t work then back to a chippy tea, had the book for about three weeks and have made about 12/13 recipes.I've skimmed the kindle version i bought for a quick overview and like this very sensible approach to trying to lose weight but without sacrificing flavour, and still having a reasonable size portion. Each recipe has an approx calorie count and there is a list of calories per common food item, helpful if you want to substitute when the recipe includes things you don't care for.

As Tom says: 'It's impossible to stick to a diet if the food you're expected to eat is boring and doesn't fill you up. I like Tom and his usually unpretentious recipes, we watched the accompanying TV programme and bought the book, as, for health reasons, I need some food with flavour, as chemotherapy has numbed mine, but agave and yuzo!

So I’ve developed lots of tasty and satisfying recipes that people will love to cook and eat, but that will also help them lose weight. Now Tom is turning his attention to helping food-lovers who have chosen a low-calorie diet as their own route to weight-loss. The focus is on the food that we can and should be eating to lose weight, which is easy to make and won't make you feel as though you are missing out.
