About this deal

Sadly though, the controllers packed into the box known as the Joy-Cons have been something of an Achilles heel for the Nintendo Switch despite its roaring success over the last few years. Formerly the Lead Editor of Reviews at Digital Trends, he has over a decade of experience covering PC hardware.

As far as I can tell, the controller has performed with pinpoint accuracy and a perfect response time at every opportunity. I personally don't mind DS4 as the controller is considerably bigger and spacious between the two sticks so my hands don't feel cramped. The excellent 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller uses GuliKit’s own tech to avoid drift, while also having a robust app for tweaking sensitivity and enabling other features. For example, a headphone jack and back buttons would tremendously help here and I hope to see them in GuliKit’s future controllers. This will disappoint fans of first-person shooters and other games that rely heavily on the triggers. This controller, as well as the new Aya Neo Next for instance will be the first few controllers that will use this hall effect stick. If you have used this feature before you’ll know how handy it can be, and it works very quickly and efficiently here. No matter which game I made a gyro aim template for in Steam, everything drifted up and to the right. The GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro is an elite near-universal Bluetooth controller with anti-drift joysticks and even amiibo support.

Please note that if (1) the product is found to be working, (2) the fault/damage is due to misuse, neglect or reasonable wear and tear, or (3) the product is not one which was purchased from us (e. Since it emulate the Switch Pro controller in Switch mode, some of Swtich mode's exclusive features are supported natively by a growing list of games, allowing the use of the controller and some/all of it supplementary features without any additional software installed. I see apparently they're making some for the Steam Deck, though I guess soldering would be required for the touch sensitive sticks in that case. It's weird that Nintendo decided to go with digital triggers for the WiiU/Switch, but used analog triggers for GC.To give you a sentence with some subtext that I’ll clear up near the end, it has a smooth frictionless feel that needs to be experienced if you have a friend that has one.

Personally I can only strongly recommend this controller as an vanilla Xbox 360 controller replacement on PC and maybe a Switch pro controller replacement (see concern above), but the other modes and features on PC have a few caveats that may or may not be big issues depending on your situation. I have noticed this when holding LB RB LT RT A B X Y and then rapidly mashing multiple directions on the dpad, sometimes an input will get stuck. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. This thing is awesome, it has such I high build quality feel, it's super solid and I love the silver shoulder buttons. The controller has software built into it that puts a deadzone on the analog sticks before the input is registered on games you play on PC.Every reviewer has always added that disclaimer of “in theory” in relation to its non-drifting claims, and it’s because it still is in theory. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Now Nintendo Switch will be the only console with the ability to utilize macros with this controller. As well as being able to adjust vibration strength (which felt fine to me out of the box, even though it can’t match HD rumble on Switch), the GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro has several other big tricks up its sleeve. If you play on Switch, mobile, and/or PC, the GuliKit KingKong 2 Pro may have a silly name, but it's as good as any official gamepad out there and is packed with hidden tricks that sometimes make it an even better pick.

The con is that bluetooth on PC isn't usually what you want for things like twitch shooters and as a result the latency isn't great and buttons need to be pressed pretty deliberately for input to be recognized it feels like (as in, with a wired controller if I just graze my thumb over a button often it will recognize is), but between the latency and the time resolution maybe there could be some issues here. They feel wooden and dead, offering little tactile feedback when reaching their full range of action, and feeling frictionless when rapidly pulled. As much of an anti-commercialism rebel that I like to think that I am, reviewers singing this controller’s praises made me feel like I had to purchase it.
