About this deal

Whether you're a longtime fan or discovering The Strokes for the first time, this vinyl edition is a true testament to the band's talent and a reminder of why this album remains a classic in the rock genre. The Strokes' "Is This It" on limited edition vinyl is an essential addition to any music lover's collection. The guitars have a satisfying crunch, the drums punch through with intensity, and Julian Casablancas' iconic vocals take center stage in a way that feels raw and unfiltered.

Also, the RT version doesn't have "When It Started" like the VMP pressing, but that is the weakest song on the album IMO. German retailer JPC are listing a limited edition white vinyl pressing of The Strokes‘ debut Is This It, to be released next month. The attention to detail in the packaging, the superb sound quality, and the timeless music make this release a must-have. is one of the most exciting and energetic debut albums to spring from New York’s long dormant club scene. Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. The Strokes" owe more to "Joy Division" or "The Velvet Underground", than they do to either of the afforementioned (not to say massively over-rated) bands. It’s not entirely clear right now if release is a German territory exclusive, but it looks that way (I can’t find any listings for this elsewhere). The New Yorkers’ kickstarter for the 2000s indie scene spawned numerous singles including 'The Modern Age', 'Someday', 'Hard To Explain', and remains cherished by fans old and new. One, it is the ONLY pressing that has the same tracklist as the CD version that came out in 2001, which is how I got to know and fell in love with this album.

Among the many highlights are Last Nite with its insistent motown backbeat and choppy johnny thunders-like guitar solo, Barely Legal, sounding like 1980s-era Cure fronted by a saucy Iggy Pop, and the jangly Someday with its hairshirt of vulnerability from a bad break-up.

The time was ripe for the scratchy, post-punk influenced guitars and throwback basslines of the Strokes, together with their tousled hair and don't-care attitude. The record is a heavy version 150-180 grams I guess, and the front cover has a sticker with black background and "The Strokes" in white letters and "Is This It" in red. This version doesn't have "When It Started" like the VMP pressing, but that is the weakest song on the album IMO. My copy matches this listing exactly (no Ⓤ or ☆ in runout) except the labels have fine text beneath the Side A and Side B, which match the photos of this pressing: https://www. Additionally, the album's original cover photo was replaced by a less sexually explicit artwork for the US market.
