About this deal

I really recommend all my first time moms so just any mom to be to read this book and know that you can definitely do it and there’s such peace to come after reading it. the problem with this is for a first time mum who has not given birth before, it might set some unrealistic expectations. It is accepted by you that Daunt Books has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. Overall, Siobhan Miller has successfully changed my perspective on the negative narrative around birth that I've heard from other people or seen on TV. My wife is having our baby in a few months, and having read this book, it's clear that I knew almost nothing about what to expect and how to help her when she gives birth.

There was some good stuff in here, but nothing you won’t already hear if you go to an NCT course before your birth. I decided to give this book a go as I had a credit to use and am expecting my little one this summer.Setting the environment is more important than you think, and the nurses/doctors kept saying how my room was full of good vibes and the one to be in. Aside from that, the author also provides a list of positive affirmations that can be read by birth partners to empower and encourage birthing mothers. I feel like that's just setting expectant mothers up with unrealistic expectations that leave them unprepared for the reality of childbirth. Expert hypnobirthing teacher and founder of The Positive Birth Company Siobhan Miller has made it her mission to change the way women around the world approach and experience birth. The author is so patronising and it’s very apparent what her view point is and what decisions she feels you should make.

Despite a 15 hour labour, I would describe my experience as positive thanks to my mindset throughout, which I definitely wouldn't have had without this book. After a difficult past labour I was very apprehensive about finding out that I was pregnant just due to the fact that I would have to do it again. This book will be a complete game changer and I will be recommending it to mums-to-be from now on’ Sarah Turner, author of The Unmumsy MumExpert hypnobirthing teacher and founder of The Positive Birth Company Siobhan Miller has made it her mission to change the way women around the world approach and experience birth. It gives you techniques to implement hypnobirthing no matter what birth journey you have, things to consider to optimize your experience, and how your partner can support you! It primes men to feel like useless spectators, and more importantly it primes women to fear giving birth.

One subject I found strange was the natural c-section… where you can ask to dim the lights etc… I’d like my surgeon to see what he/she is doing thank you very much! The book is such an easy read with lots of useful information about all aspects of birth and I think it should be recommended to pregnant women by any midwife or even the NHS.I liked the tips for birth partners, and the accepting and reassuring way the author describes and explains things. In definitiva, utile per certi versi ma si sta parlando di una persona che sostanzialmente vende quello che racconta e purtroppo questo l’ho avvertito tanto. This first chapter describes how the uterus needs blood and oxygen for the muscles to work effectively. They know the evidence better than we do and are recommending things with a patient centered, evidence based approach. I’m in my first pregnancy and as I’m sure everyone has experienced, there’s a wee bit of anxiety about labour and birth.
