About this deal

Although I do get a lot of burnt sugar and mild woods, I also get a pretty unexpected fruity floral-ness from this. It's heavy essential oil, same as oud eclipse by oud blend, which is going through a maceration process for me now, all these UAE and Dubai teams use heavy oils. The only thing is that I find that the opening is a LOT harsher in comparison, once it dries down it mellows out though. It shares commonalities with various perfume oils like Al-Rehab Sultan al Oud and Al Haramain Black Oudh (without weed smell), among others. If BTFP smells like marshmallows on a bonfire, this smells like marshmallows coated in vanilla sugar cooked on a middle-eastern lighter.

This ambery-colored fragrance is dusty and warm, cozy-sweet, enjoyably calming, enrapturing, and inviting. But you want a Christmas/candle/warmholiday vibe with a better longevity/sillage, go for Lattafa Intens Oud. But I think both Oud Mood and Ameer al Oudh Intense project enough to be obnoxious in any close space like a carpool or elevator and I think inappropriate for most office environments. I have thought about making this one a signature scent but it's just too cozy for me to put myself out there like that lol.i put it on before going in to bed and when i wake up i can smell it like i just sprayed it on me just now. This has excellent performance for year round wear, but the sweeter woody profile make it most appropriate for spring through fall or chilly nights. This is the smoothest oud frag you could ever smell to date with creamy sweet notes but not sickly sweet.

I expected it to be more creamy, warm and smooth, but it is sweet in a harsh and dusty way - it is depressing. Less of an oud scent on me and more of a generic synthetic woody scent, probably heavy on the Iso e Super. I use it as an air freshener simply because I have Encre Noire A L’Extreme and that one gives me exactly the complex woody fragrance I need. This has a large projection and if you walk into a room wearing it people are going to start looking around wondering if someone is burning incense. The scent opens up with a sweet, smokey vanilla praline/chestnut accord that lasts throughout the wear. The lack of color is felt as a loss, and it doesn't look or feel alive in the same way, but it is still art. In the opening it smells like burning caramel and then turns into Smokey woody and there is no leather in it. The projection and Longevity were so strong I tried rubbing the smell of with soap and water because i hated the smell and still the smell didn't come off. Because of this I would say this is a fall/winter fragrance, it will easily be too cloying on warm days. I like to spray this on the back of my hands and the tops of my knees so I can smell wafts of it throughout the day.

The opening smoother but still a chemical mess however far into the dry drown, about 4-5 hours it starts becoming such an addictive and cozy scent. It is not a bad smell really but it just reminded me of my neighbours grandpa from my childhood days. Bought this on a whim after looking at the notes I was not sold however, my friend who also loves fragrances says it’s actually quite nice. It's definitely smoky, but there's enough sweetness to keep me from feeling like I've escaped a house fire.
