About this deal

Roarke is fascinated by the beautiful, intelligent, cool-headed woman behind the badge, and he intends to see her without that badge, or anything else for that matter. Eve finds herself not only up against the power of politics and old money but also her own Chief Commissioner. ALSO, if you're into audiobooks, definitely, definitely worth a try, especially if you can pick them up from your library, and I'd imagine most would have them considering how popular and long-running this series is. When a senator's daughter is killed, the secret life of prostitution she'd been leading is revealed.

While at the public library perusing their audio book collection I came across Naked in Death, and with 4. I like a good stabby-murder book, and I like future stuff - like my friends who live in Australia, so it was a win. D. Robb is such a prolific author, and the In Death series is exceptional and incomparable and one of my all-time favorites. There are six books in the series so far, with the seventh, Holiday In Death, coming out next month. while not as great as a paperback in quality, Mass market paperback was still good enough and cheaper in this case so I went for it.But New York City Detective Eve Dallas knows that the irresistible impulses of the human heart are still ruled by just one thing-passion. Abandoned as a young girl, with only flashbacks of a childhood she prefers not to face, she was renamed by social workers and lives for her work. The only lead is the last person to see the first victim alive: the aforementioned Roarke, who also owns the building she lived in, and who also has a collection of antique guns. But she's going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, a charismatic Irish billionaire - and a suspect in Eve's latest murder investigation.

But New York City Detective Eve Dallas knows that the irresistible impulses of the human heart are still ruled by just one thing: passion. Because Naked In Death is set in a mostly recognisable 2058, the fact that it was written twenty plus years ago means it’s not dated, with many of the futuristic aspects now the norm. Consequently, I found Roarke so difficult and so overpowering, I didn’t really get much of a sense of Eve as a character. And all the flattering Roarke talk is totally justified because he's such a mysteriously delicious, sexy alpha hero! Unrelenting street language, no-holds-barred homicide investigations, searing sensuality, and a believable world of the next century, all combine to make this compelling reading.High on her list of suspects was a man she hadn’t come across before – Roarke, a handsome Irish billionaire – and she was drawn to him; him to her. JD Robb is the alias of Nora Roberts for her In Death series featuring Eve Dallas, a lieutenant with the police department set in a futuristic New York around the 2050s. Naked in Death was first released around 20 years when some of the gadgets Eve uses in her fight against crime would have seemed more Sci-fi than anything else but now with advances in technology now seem within reach. There is only one scene that I would label as graphic and it takes place in the context of an adult remembering past abuse, so if you aren't particularly sensitive, it's not any more unpleasant than any other mystery/thriller with psychos or whack jobs doing psycho/whack job things. I won't commit to almost forty books/stories, just yet, but I think I can agree to the next several.
